Daily Download Day 30 | Inspire Me

Before we get to today's download, I just wanted to let you know that I won't be participating in the December Scrap Twist Blog Train.

In case you didn't know, the December theme is "Christmas Around The World", and the designers were to make their kits specific to their part of the world. As I would have been the only designer who experiences Christmas in summer, rather than winter, I felt that I would have had to make a large, comprehensive bundle to portray a completely different holiday season to everyone else.

I freely admid that I am a perfectionist, and I found that I was feeling immense pressure to do something I could be happy about sharing with you. I have been suffering from depression and anxiety for many years now, and worrying about the December blog train was affecting my health. I felt so guilty about letting the other designers (and you!) down, but was reassured by the other admins that it would be perfectly OK to skip a month.

So that is exactly what I'm doing, and it has been such a relief, healthwise. But I haven't been idle - I have been working on a baby bundle, and also a series of very basic tutorials for complete beginners to digital scrapbook design - I hope to share both of these projects with you soon.

We have had some extremely talented designers join us recently, and you definitely won't miss not having a blog train contribution from me!

Thanks for reading this, and (hopefully) understanding why I won't be a part of the December train.

Anyway, here is your final Inspire Me kit:

AK01 Brown Paper Alpha (8.27)
A full alpha, with upper & lower case letters, numbers, and a variety of symbols

  1. Hi Robyn!
We all are so happy and thankful that you are sharing your beautiful work every month with us - and you design so much for free, this is really great.
Designing should be fun and not pressure and never affecting your health.
So skip this blogtrain and design as much or little as you like!
Hope you will have a wonderful time until Christmas.
    Gonda

  3. Please don't feel bad to be missing December. You are always so extremely generous with your artwork it's time to take a break. And your health and personal life should always come first. This time of year is stressful enough to start with anyway (personally I feel an intense pressure to decorate and 'act' mainstream Christmas even though we don't celebrate now our kids have grown), so sit back and relax. And thanks for all the great stuff this month.

  5. Oh my goodness .. this should only ever be a pleasure for you. If it causes stress, then please skip it. You must always look after yourself first and foremost. I have suffered with depression most of my life, and at 50 yrs of age, finally sought help. The best thing I ever did !! I take medication now, and call them my "happy pills" .. I still get depressed occasionally, but that is part of life .. it is when it takes over your life that it is a problem. I am extremely grateful for all your gifts, and they make me very happy! From on Aussie to another, Merry Christmas, and may 2018 be a very good year for you and yours :) Keep safe during the silly season, and look after yourself :)

    Robyn,
Thanks for making the choice to take care of you!! You are always so generous with your gifts to us that I'm glad you have chosen to take a break in December as a gift to yourself. I for one know that I don't want you to reach a point where this becomes hazardous to your health because nothing is worth that.

From those of us in the Northern Hemisphere, enjoy your warm weather. I for one know that I will be jealous!!!

I look forward to your tutorials as I am looking forward to actually beginning to "do" digital scrapbooking in 2018. I've been "collecting" lots of fun stuff for the past couple years and can't wait to start creating!!!

    Hugs always!

  7. Wow! All this support! Thank you all so much for being so understanding. As it turned out, it was just as well I decided not to do December, as I have also had computer troubles and I've been without my computer for a week while it was getting fixed. Thankfully, I backed up all my data beforehand, and it was just as well, because I've had to reinstall some programs, apps, and all my photos that didn't make it through the repairs. So it all worked out in the end!

  9. Thank you so much for your amazing kit. I appreciate the amount of time you must have spent just to give it away. I am new to Scrap Twist so it was wonderful to check each day and find your generous gift.
Please don't feel bad that you can't participate in the Christmas train. Relax and enjoy the peace and joy that God gives as we approach the Christmas. I have suffered depression and understand completely your feelings. Thank you for November's gift. PS - I live downunder too.

  10. Hello - I have so appreciated your offerings since I 'happened upon' your site last month! The Sterling Rose has been a favorite of mine since forever and is 'my trademark Blossom' (pun intended!), so I know I will use your lovely lavender rose items from this month in my Digi-pages - often. I also understand your needing to take a break and I trust that your holidays are lovely. Thank You and Blessings from afar! ;-}

  11. Robyn, you've shared so many beautiful things with us ... please don't feel bad that you need to take some time for yourself!! & besides, if you feel stressed out about creating something, your craft/creativity just becomes a burden & not a joy! Art (digiscrapping) in any form should bring the creator joy!!! Thanks so much for the Inspire Me collection! Enjoy your rest & have a beautiful & peaceful holiday season!!!!

  14. All the work you do on your kits, and everything you share is awesome and beautiful, so, of course I will miss you in December ('specially since my Christmas temps are also in the 70s and 80s, like summer, so I would have been most intrigued to see what you would have done). :) Merry Christmas, God Bless.

  16. I totally understand you not taking part in the December train. You put soooo much work into your kits and I know you'd want to make a super kit too. Don't ever feel guilty about not participating, your health must come first. Being in Morayfield we are also melting in this weather (thank goodness for air-conditioning). I would like to wish you a very Merry Christmas and may 2018 bring you many blessings x x
